Stay strong - he is bound to have an amazing time and at least he is travelling with a team for support! Get him to send you regular text messages so you know he is doing OK.
I know how you feel though - I was exactly the same when my son boarded the plane to Canberra by himself earlier in the year.
I hope he has a great adventure and does well in the competition. There is a little bottle of something called 'Rescue Remedy' that may help you while he is away. You will be in my thoughts Susan! Vicki x
