I have good news today...I am back up to date with my 39 squares project! While Riley trained (at trampoline) last night, I stitched and stitched...take a look :)
I have had reason to reflect a lot on my childhood recently, and got to thinking about negatives and positives, and how important it is to embrace the positives in life and move forward from there. So....one of the positives of my (and my siblings) childhood was a little sausage dog called Toby. He belonged to my sister, and brought her much comfort and love for many years...he was such a character! He had a stub of a tail, and by the end of his life, he was almost as round as he was long :) So this block is just for you, Leisa!
This next one is for friendship..
...girls of all shapes and sizes, supporting each other and giving the gift of unconditional friendship! A few of my friends have a soft spot for Babushkas too...you know who you are ;)
And a little red mushroom...
....there have been a few of these posted on the flickr group, and I just couldn't resist adding one to my sampler!
As I was stitching these blocks, agonizing over the tiny little stitches in baby Babushka in particular, I vowed to take another "perpective shot" so you can imagine a little better just how small these squares are!
Progress shot after Day 31...
Some scrapping...
I pulled a late one last night to finish this layout of Riley as a baby. These papers are all from several years ago...Daisy D's Nursery Collection...and have been sitting around here just waiting to be used.
I seem to be intent on using flowers and pink on my baby boy LOs...no idea why, but maybe I should pull out some baby girl photos to play with. I have been blessed with two little pink bundles, after all!

If you have made it to the end of this super long post....a big thank you for reading!
Have a fabulous weekend

You are a stitching star these last couple of days Susan! Love the latest batch - especially that sweet mushroom. Can't wait to see the sampler in real life!
I really love your little babushkas! :-) Are those for Julie?
Oh Toby! What a beautiful and meaningful inclusion in your sampler. It really is looking amazing Susan and how you do such small stitches is beyond my comprehension! Another great layout of Riley - I think baby layouts look fantastic with both pink and blue!
Your stitching is looking amazing. You are so clever. Cute photo of Riley-Oh so long ago.
xx
The detail in such a tiny space is so well done---it wasn't enought to get Toby in; you slipped a fence behind him and a tree! How are you able to get such clear pictures so close up? I think I need a new camera!
I think you know which is my favourite square out of these ones :) I love how it represents friendships.
