Stitching and Sewing...but no Scrapping :)

My fingers have been working at a frantic pace over the last few days, in a classic case of me leaving things to the last minute :)

I've known all year (all decade, actually LOL) that my Mother-in-law was having a "special" birthday this year, but in typical fashion, have left it until the week before to prepare her gift...why oh why do I do this to myself?
Just a few more stitches and the embroidery part will be done...then I can start on the construction. Luckily it's just a small part of her pressie :) I'll show you a proper photo after she receives it on Thursday.

My sewing machine has been purring along, doing what it does best...
...how I missed it! Working on this Bliss quilt is a nice diversion from other more pressing things, like ironing (almost up to the roof!), house cleaning and quilting that other quilt (whose name we shall not mention LOL).
Procrastinating is, after all, one of the things I do best :)

What have you been up to this weekend?

I'm totally lovin' that stitching! Just seeing that inspires me to want to start a new embroidery project. Your mother-in-law is going to be so thrilled!

Jill

oh we are all pretty much the same, leave things to the last... my ironing pile is looking pretty ugly too! Maybe some gardening today then...

Yay! Glad to see the bliss quilt is in progress. No craft for me this weekend gone. Just a trip to Canberra and some seriously hard car washing.

Love the embroidery...I am almost an Olympian at procrastinating! I had a great day yesterday & ticked a lot off my list! Love the Bliss.

Glad I am not the only one who leaves things to the last minute and then has to work in a slight state of panic :-) Can't wait to see the finished item.

OoOoOoh, Bliss! It is my faaaavorite! The colors are divine. I'm slowly collecting little bits (the line is HUGE) so that I can make myself a a nice quilt with it too. The only place I'm able to find it anymore is ebay, so it's a little slow going. I better finish getting what I need before it's gone completely. Well, I can't wait to see what you'll make of this, Suz! I'm sure I'll love it so much I'll want to come to Perth and steal it from you like a thief in the night!
