Tick tock...time's up!

Today's the day! The official "deadline" that I set myself for my 39 squares project. Here are my final 3 blocks...yes, I made it!

My dear friend Tracey suggested I stitch an oven mitt, since I bake most Mondays...

...so I ran with that idea and stitched not only an oven mitt, but a whisk, a spatula and some fresh eggs :)

I always knew I'd do some scissors and thread, but have been putting it off, thinking it might be a little tricky...

...but it was nothing compared to this last block!

OMGoodness, this satin-stitched bow almost made me give up! (in fact, I actually did LOL...you'll notice the top of the bow is backstsitch!) If you've ever used metallic thread, you'll know that it "shreds"...if you've had it in your needle a while, the thread wears and becomes weaker and weaker. Combine this with teeny tiny stitches, and you have a recipe for disaster. Blah...happy birthday to me (insert eye roll!) The tag has an "s" , because this present is just for me :)
The finished stitches...

I have LOVED doing this project...stitching a little most days...and have especially loved the lovely comments and support I've had from all you lovely people who read my blog...a heartfelt thank you from me to you.
Hope you have a wonderful day...I'm off to celebrate!

oh gosh it all looks so beautiful!! I love it so much. Can you share another pic when it's all framed on your wall? I'd really love to see it.
There are so many squares that I adore, I really can't choose a favourite.

Great job on the squares. Just love it. Happy Birthday wishes to you and hope the year is full of wonderful happy times. I have just seen a previous post and realised how small the squares really are lined up against the 5 cent piece. Good on you.
Happy days.
