The idea for this block came from yesterdays homework...I was telling the kids about my "math" tutor, and my mind wandered to her very American letterbox. I really love how this project is making me remember happy things :)
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments and feedback about the buttons. I still haven't made a decision...so I guess that block in the top row of my sampler will stay empty for a while yet.

P.S. That crooked stitch in the bottom left corner was bugging me...LOL...but a little nudge with my fingernail straightened it out! Remember, these are one inch squares...magnification can be harsh!!!!

I love the American style letterboxes - your tutor sounds perfect - even maths would be better with brownies! Love the detail you are putting into these little squares - I look forward to tomorrow's addition.
Oh what a gorgeous square and a beautiful memory to share - and OMG re the crooked stitch (insert eye roll here!) - hadn't noticed 'til you told us!
Oh i so agree with your sister -eye roll here as well- i hadn't noticed it and then had to go and have another look after i read your comment. It looks perfect.
xx
I love your little mailbox, so cute!

Oh I love the mailbox! Well done. Your details are fantastic.
Love the mail box!!! I have one of those....
I understand what you say about the magnification. I am doing my squares on muslin and it is really bothering my perfectionistic tendencies.
Oh well...my completed sampler will go in the guest room...and will be done into a hanging mini quilt piece.
No frames..so I am hoping this will be a more forgiving approach for my wonky squares.
Have a good weekend!
I love this one! Soo cleaver!
I love getting REAL letters and cards also.
With Kindness,
Mary
You're right, magnification can be harsh, but you have nothign to worry about, this square is as cute as a button and neat as a pin! I love it!
Love your square. Your mailbox is so very cute.
